So Long Summer! I’m Ready for the Sweet Taste of Fall | Fairfield Connecticut Photographer Hadley Spagna

Delicious bag of granola on scalloped plate

In the last few days of Summer I find myself already missing the warm sun on my shoulders, the smell of steaks on a hot grill, bright yellow corn on the cob and the sound of my kids splashing in the pool. Because I love all four of our seasons, I’m okay with Summer leaving and missing it for a little while. Summer will be back next year. Looking forward I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of fall. I’m ready to trade the warmth of the sun for the warmth of my favorite cashmere sweater, the smell of steaks for the smell of chicken roasting in the oven, the colors of our changing foliage for the bright yellow corn and the sound of a crackling fire for the splashing in the pool.

Not everyone feels the same way. In you find yourself in this camp maybe you’ll find your comfort in comfort food. If you know me, you’ll know it’s my go to vice. If comfort food isn’t your first vice of choice then I know you have never had anything from the baking genius and founder of Sweet and Simple, Michelle Jaffee. I first fell in love with Michelle’s heavenly granola that is perfectly sweet and has the right amount of crunch. But, when I had Michelle’s oatmeal cookies my world had become a brighter place.

So when Michelle asked me to take some photographs for her website I was flattered and floored and jumped on the opportunity.

Sweet and Simple’s menu is not limited to yummy granola and the finest oatmeal cookies. Michelle bakes brownies, blondies, cakes, cupcakes, breads and I think I’m missing something, but if it’s sweet and delicious she makes it. Now, if you’re hungry and wondering where you can find some of this simple goodness you can find some in Westport at Westport Wash and Wax, Stiles Farmers Market, Westport Country Playhouse Concession; in Southport at Spic and Span Market; in Easton at the Easton Village Store; in Fairfield at Sweet Rexie’s and the Pine Creek Deli. Michelle is happy to take orders directly too and she’s as sweet as her granola!
